WILL RANDY OWEN AND TEDDY GENTRY FANS GET AN AMEN IN BIRMINGHAM?

Or are fans are likely to feel like they're at Hell‑Fire, Heaven‑High, Revival and get a Revival‑Tent Proclamation?

Brothers, sisters, and all you faithful followers of the Mountain Music gospel—

Get closer, lean in, and get ready, because a mighty shaking could be coming to the Coca‑Cola Amphitheater in Birmingham on Saturday night, May 9 at 7:00 PM. Tickets are selling quickly and range from $133 to nearly $1,400, but what  could  happen there has nothing to purchase, nothing to charge, nothing to measure. It’s the sort of moment that tears the sky and leaves chills in the red clay of Alabama itself.

For on this occasion in time, Alabama celebrates its first home-state appearance since August 2025, when the Orion Amphitheater of Huntsville experienced a miracle of its own — Mark Herndon unannounced walking out into an audience of 8,000 stunned believers, like a prodigal son returning to the fold. The audience didn’t just applaud — they testified.

And here is the question the believers are pondering:

WILL THE LORD SEND ANOTHER BIG‑BANG SURPRISE TO BIRMINGHAM?

Oh yes, child… when  Alabama comeshome, you know the rumors burn all the way up from Fort Payne to Heaven, and like my Daddy says, "…where there’s smoke there’s fire!" Randy Owen and Teddy Gentry are the real sons of Fort Payne — boys born on Lookout Mountain dirt and  have never made their greatest announcements in a far place. No sir. If Alabama has something big to reveal, they bring it home to the people who grew up around them, nurtured them, and carried them on their shoulders for fifty years.

So let us step into the revival tent and dream with great courage about what could likely be revealed there in those Birmingham lights.

1. A NEW ERA OF MUSIC?

Could Randy walk up to the mic, wave to the 9,000-plus audience, wipe a tear, and say:

“We’ve been working on something…”

If he does, the amphitheater will burst out like Pentecost Sunday.

A new album?

A retold classic style collection?

A legacy project?

The Spirit moves where it will.

2. THE RETURN OF JUNE JAM?

Oh, saints and sinners — get on with your hymnals.

And if Alabama does resurrect June Jam again, they won’t whisper it in Nashville.

That’s where they’ll thunder it in Alabama.

Imagine the announcement:

“June Jam returns in 2026!”

And the roar from the crowd would just be enough to disturb the angels.

3. A PARADE OF SPECIAL GUESTS?

After Mark's surprise return in Huntsville, fans are watching the wings of the stage like hawks.

Who might slip out next?

A country legend?

A former bandmate?

A roster of stars who will honor the boys of Fort Payne?

Revival tents are designed for moments like that.

Could Mark Herndon return for good?

4. A FAREWELL TOUR?

This one would rock the rafters.

If Alabama ever decides to make that one final, glorious, world‑wide farewell, they would not do it in Los Angeles or New York.

They will do so in  Alabama, where their story kicked off.  People will faint, have convulsions, and some migt give up their will to live!

5. A MARK HERNDON ENCORE?

Child…

If Mark goes out again, the crowd won’t cheer only — they’ll speak in tongues.

6. A DOCUMENTARY, BIOPIC, OR LEGACY PROJECT?

Fifty years of stories.

Fifty years of music.

Fifty years of Alabama changing the sound of America.

If it’s a film that’s coming, Birmingham would be where they should present it.

7. AND NOW THE ALABAMA FAN CLUB’S BIGGEST ANNOUNCEMENT

From the Alabama Fan Club itself, posted on its Official Facebook page on January 16 at 4:35 PM:

"SAVE THE DATES! FAN APPRECIATION 2026 — JUNE 18–21

More info coming soon!"

This is EARLY, folks—

Before the band has ever announced Fan Appreciation before.

Earlier than last year, when they waited until April to reveal that June Jam would take a hiatus and Fan Appreciation Days would be held in late June.

When announcements come early…

When the ground begins to rattle…

And when the club announces ahead of time…

What is brewing might well be significant.

Something big.

Something bold.

Something worthy of an entire revival tent shouting.

THE FINAL WORD

When Alabama steps onto that Birmingham stage on May 9, the Birmingham air will crackle.

The faithful will gather.

The mountains will listen.

And the spirit of Mountain Music will move.

Whether it’s a new album, reunion, festival revival, farewell, or something else we haven’t experienced—

One thing is certain:

When Alabama comes home, miracles happen...nothing to charge, nothing to measure. It’s the sort of moment that tears the sky and leaves chills in the red clay of Alabama itself.
